Secured Assets

This week we released the first article in our new educational series. This series aims to demystify key concepts and help users better understand what’s possible with Rujira, in a simplified way.

In this article, we explain the importance of Secured Assets and how it will allow us to offer a more secure and superior alternative to wrapped assets and third-party bridges. This is especially relevant for Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Dogecoin users, who lack smart contracts and thus direct access to DeFi. With this innovation, we will be able to unlock the enormous potential of DeFi for Bitcoin, which we will discuss in next week’s article.

Unfortunately, as we are about to publish this update, ByBit just suffered a $1.4bn hack, highlighting the critical importance to develop better decentralized security solutions for asset custody, which is exactly what Secured Assets solve.

The London interviews

The event in London on January the 17th was an exciting milestone, as it was the first official Rujira event and a valuable opportunity for the Rujira team and ecosystem projects to connect and plan for the months ahead. During the event, Mark, Pragmatic Monkey, Madcapslaugh and Hans were interviewed about the innovation Rujira brings to DeFi, and what exciting things are coming.

The full interviews will be shared over the next few weeks. For the people who can’t wait, we have this teaser which includes, for most of you, a face reveal of the genius behind much of the code.

Proposal 6 and $TCY Update

Yesterday was a THORChain Spaces with Orion, Kenton, AaluxxMyth and more, to talk about the latest on Proposal 6 and $TCY. They covered topics around the timeline of the roll-out of Proposal 6 and $TCY, regulatory implications and the other developments happening across the different teams.

Nami, the fully automated yield optimizer

Nami has been teasing us all week about a new phase of Nami Protocol, featuring a brand new logo, bigger scope of the project and positioning themselves as the fully automated yield optimizer on Rujira. Tomorrow marks the release of the whitepaper for this next phase, along with a Spaces with Patriotsounds to discuss it.

Start of the Rujira Academy’s Genesis Program

Big week ahead for Rujira Academy as their partnership with the University of Bristol to host Blockchain Futures 2025 is about to begin! They’re kicking things off with the Launch Event for the Genesis Program next Monday.

The Genesis Program will consist of two phases:
– Phase 1: Focused on dApp ideation
– Phase 2: Dedicated to building out the project, with support from JP Kuji and Hans

We’re excited to see the innovative ideas the students will bring to life!

AutoRujira continues to ship

AutoRujira has shared a demo of how the UX and interface could look like for RUJI Agents. They have made incredible progress in a short amount of time, with the AI being able to translate the user wishes, and fetching quotes & swaps on Rujira devnet.

The team has also submitted their application for Rayuele, a Web 3 start-up event in Argentina. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase Rujira, THORChain, and AutoRujira, and introducing the Argentinian Web 3 community to what we’re building
