THORChain v3.0 & Cosmos v50 update

The THORChain v3.0 update, which includes the integration of Cosmos v50, is almost ready with the final issues being resolved. It is scheduled to launch on stagenet during the week of December 2nd. This will be followed by an intense week of testing and, if everything goes well, the update is expected to be deployed to mainnet in the week of December 9th, which will enable CosmWasm smart contracts on top of THORChain, marking the birth of the App layer.

THORChain spaces with Hans

Last week, a THORChain Spaces session was hosted featuring GrassRoots Crypto, MarkFromDenmark, and Hans. The discussion focused on the technical aspects of the App Layer, highlighting its groundbreaking potential for THORChain. If you’re curious about the App Layer’s technical details, the three key security measures designed to protect the Base Layer, and the various products set to launch, this session is definitely worth a listen.

Kujira Academy

The Kujira Academy is back and is preparing itself for the launch of Rujira. Over the past two years, Kujira Academy has played an important role in the Kujira ecosystem, contributing to raising awareness, educating users and driving engagement.

The Kujira Academy was built to help make Web3 more inclusive, accessible, and sustainable, while addressing gaps in education and job accessibility within the industry. At the core of their mission they aimed to become the educational hub of the Kujira ecosystem, bridge the gap between universities and blockchain technology, and improve access to resources and opportunities for all users.

The have achieved some impressive milestones to date:

Partnered with the University of Bristol to shape their 2024/25 FinTech curriculum, hosting workshops and tutorials for MSc students.
Educated 55 students across five continents through 6-week programs, creating a lasting global network.
Published 60+ articles on Kujira dApps, and ecosystem protocols, amassing 50,000+ reads.
Hosted Web3 events in Lisbon (Portugal) and Lagos (Nigeria), onboarding new users and spotlighting up-and-coming protocols.
Led marketing campaigns for three token launches on PILOT.

Going forward, they will be working closely with the chads at THORChain University to provide comprehensive educational ressources for the THORChain and Rujira communities.

Wenrujira.fun & Crack The Vault

As we await the launch of the App Layer and the RUJI token, Nami Protocol and WenRUJIdotfun have teamed up to create some exciting games to enjoy in the meantime. The first release is Nami’s “Crack the Vault“.

Crack The Vault is almost here! A game of taps, strategy, and a sprinkle of game theory. Your mission? Crack the vault by tapping up to 1.5 times per second! When will it open? That’s totally random. But when it does, the real challenge begins:

Do you lock in your score (taps) for a chance at rewards, or take the risk and try again for a higher score? Remember, only locked scores are eligible for the prize! You can also exit at any point to get back a part of your ticket value.

They have also revealed the next game on the horizon: Hit & Rug, a fully on-chain experience set to launch later this week.
